A Feel-good guide to loving yourself

One way to feel good about yourself is to love yourself, to take care of yourself.

It takes time and patience to love yourself, it doesn’t just happen overnight. There will also be some days when you don’t feel like you can and that is okay. Loving yourself 90% of the time is better than loving yourself none of the time. We all have flaws and that is okay because you can choose to love and accept them. So, here is our Feel-good guide to loving yourself.

● Spend quality time with yourself - practising self-love is a great way to learn to accept yourself. Especially if you are a person whose love language is attention. This will get you to learn more about yourself as you are focusing on your own undivided attention.

○ Here are some ideas on what to do:

■ Take yourself out on a date

■ Plan a solo trip to somewhere you have always wanted to visit

■ Pick a book and start reading

■ Make time for your hobbies

● Act of service - use this to help with setting up yourself for success. Plan ahead and do things that you might want other people to do for you. You are capable of doing anything you set your mind to and you need to understand that you are an impressive force of nature when you put your mind to it.

○ Here are some ideas on what to do:

■ Organizing and planning out your week

■ Scheduling meetings and appointments ahead of time

● Physical touch - pamper your body, take the time to get to know yourself. Allow yourself to feel good about your body whether you do this in front of a mirror or not. You can be yourself and pamper the vessel that you are in.

○ Here are some ideas on what to do:

■ Pampering yourself with a massage or spa day

■ Establish a skincare routine

● Words of Affirmation - remind yourself that you are important and that other people are going to judge you but not to let that affect how you feel about yourself. Most people aren’t judging you as they are too busy with themselves. But, giving yourself a mantra or a couple of words to help with making you believe in yourself is always worth it.

■ Write in a journal daily

■ Have a list of positive affirmations to read to yourself
